1. What size do I need?

The different helmet sizes orient themselves at the head circumference of the wearer. Each size covers head circumferences with a difference of 3-6 cm due to adjustment options. To determine your own head circumference, it is best to use a tape measure or a string which is placed around the widest part of the head (approx. 1 cm above the ears) and then measured. If a helmet sits correctly, it offers excellent protection!

2. How do I get the free pads?

In order to receive the free additional pads, simply contact us and state your order number or customer number.

3. Is my helmet suitable for other sports?

Each helmet is certified and approved for a specific sport and conforms to the EU-wide standard, because each sport has its own individual risks. A bicycle helmet, for example, is robust and safe and protects against an impact, but is unsuitable as a ski helmet. The problem here is the lack of penetration protection, i.e. protection against the penetration of sharp objects. Thus a bicycle helmet worn in a ski accident would possibly result in severe head injuries to the helmet wearer.

4. Are the helmets also available in other colors?

All available variants are displayed directly in the shop.

5. How do I clean my helmet?

Clean your helmet with water, mild soap and a soft cloth. Please note that the application of paints, stickers, detergents, chemicals and solvents can seriously affect the safety of your helmet.

6. How often should I change my helmet?

Every helmet is involuntarily exposed to an ageing process, which is mainly influenced by UV radiation. The protective effect of a helmet is no longer completely guaranteed if it has been exposed to a hard impact or shock. Even if there is no visible damage on the outside, you should replace your helmet for safety reasons. This is also necessary if the helmet no longer fits properly or if visible defects are visible. Even if stored correctly, you should replace your helmet after several years of use, even if there is no visible damage to the helmet.

7. How should my helmet be stored?

Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight. In addition, you should always dry your sports helmet in the air after use and not expose it to high temperatures (e.g. in direct sunlight behind a glass).

8. How do I know if my helmet is broken?

Sometimes damage to the helmet is not clearly visible. If your helmet has been in use for several years, has been subjected to a hard blow, impact or high temperature, it should be replaced. You must not use your helmet if it is visibly damaged, such as cracks or holes, or if the helmet no longer fits.

9. What is the speed limit of the helmets?

Our bicycle helmets correspond to the bicycle helmet EU standard DIN EN 1078. The standard assumes a fall speed of 5.42 m/s (19.5 km/h).

Order Process

1. Which are the ordering steps on Skullcap-Helmets?

Step 1 - Choose helmet and add to shopping cart

Choose a helmet in our shop, which you want to buy and put it in the shopping cart. You can also add more helmets. You can delete the selected products in the shopping cart or change the quantity accordingly. Then please click on the button "Direct to Paypal" or "Checkout".

 

Step 2 - Address and Shipping

Here you have 3 options: Login for registered customers, order without registration or order and register as a customer.

If you already have an account with us, please enter your email address and password and click "Login".

If you do not yet have an account with us, you can continue without registering. Here you have to enter your address or delivery address.

Optionally you can also register.

Your advantages as a registered customer:

  • Simple and convenient - you enter your data only once.
  • You are always informed about the status of your order.
  • Manage products in your own watch lists. and much more.

Our partner DHL is automatically displayed as the shipping method. Simply click on "Continue" here.

 

Step 3 - Select payment method

Choose your preferred payment method. You can choose between purchase on account, installment purchase and immediate bank transfer with Klarna, Paypal Plus (direct debit, credit card and invoice), Paypal and prepayment.
Then click on "Continue".

- Check and order -

On the next page we have summarized your order again for you. You can correct your data again via the register "Address". If you click on the button "Buy" the order is completed.

 

Step 4 - Confirm your order

After submitting your order, you will receive an automatically generated confirmation e-mail that lists your personal order once again.
This e-mail is only for your information and as confirmation that your order has been received by us.

 

Step 5 - Conclusion of contract

When a contract is concluded between you and us depends on the method of payment chosen by you. Details can be found in our terms and conditions.

 

Step 6 - Delivery

If no other deadline is stated in the respective offer, the delivery of the goods within Germany takes place within 1-2 days, for foreign deliveries within 3-5 days after contract conclusion (with agreed advance payment after the time of your payment order).
Please note that there is no delivery on Sundays and public holidays.
If you have ordered items with different delivery times, we will ship the goods in a single shipment, unless we have agreed otherwise with you. The delivery time in this case is determined by the article with the longest delivery time you have ordered.

2. Can I order an article retrospectively or cancel my order?

The subsequent addition of an article, change or cancel your order is possible, but only if the shipping has not yet taken place.

Of course you have the possibility afterwards:

  • refuse to accept the consignment

  • to return part or all of the consignment to us as described on the enclosed return consignment note.

Upon receipt of the return, the amount, if already collected, will immediately be refunded to you via the payment method you used.

2. Which transport company will deliver my order?

Our parcels are shipped via DHL.

3. How long is the delivery time?

Unless otherwise specified in the respective offer, delivery of the goods within Germany shall take place within 1 - 2 days, in the case of deliveries abroad within 3 - 5 days after conclusion of the contract (in the case of agreed advance payment after the date of your payment order). Please note that there is no delivery on Sundays and public holidays. Returns

 

1. How does a return work?

If you are not satisfied with a helmet purchased from us, you can exercise your right of withdrawal within one month. After your return has arrived at our logistics centre, your return will be checked and processed. Please note that this process may take several days. For refunds of orders with the prepayment method, the amount will be credited to your current account. Please let us know your bank details (account holder, IBAN and BIC). If you order by credit card or Paypal, the corresponding amount will be credited back to your Paypal account. With credit card purchase, invoice purchase, as well as debit the refund takes place by the service partner Paypal (Paypal Plus).

This is how you send articles back to us:

1. A return label should always be in the packing. Please contact us if it is missing and we will send you the return label via mail:

2. Pack the item(s) carefully - preferably in the original packaging.
3. Print out the return label and stick it visibly on the package.

 

2. What happens if the helmet does not fit or I want to exchange it?

If you want the helmet in a different size, color or model, contact us to receive a return label. Subsequently, place a new order directly in our online shop to receive the new item.
